TL;DR
The Signal Fog
Capella provided deep observability metrics, but they were siloed across distinct tabs: Metrics, Logs, Backups, and Security. Administrators lacked a single composite indicator of whether a database was healthy.
The Score
Designed a 0–100 weighted health index combining performance latency, security posture (MFA/CMEK), backup freshness, and cost efficiency into one glanceable ring.
Actionable UI
A score is useless without a path to 100. Each score drop maps directly to an explicit, single-click remediation recommendation.

Cluster Health
The four diagnostic pillars.
- Reliability (35%): Unplanned failovers, memory headroom, query timeouts.
- Security (25%): IP allowlists, certificates, MFA enforcement, RBAC hygiene.
- Data Durability (20%): Backup point-in-time recovery health and replica lag.
- Cost Efficiency (20%): Idle compute, orphaned storage, overprovisioned I/O.
